States and managed care organizations need assurance that their partners can coordinate care effectively across medical, behavioral and social services and help keep people in their preferred setting\u2014often, their home and community.<\/p>\n<p><b>NCQA\u2019s Accreditation of Case Management for Long-term Services and Supports helps support organizations that coordinate long-term services and supports (LTSS) by providing a framework for quality improvement.<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>HOW DOES MY ORGANIZATION BENEFIT?<\/h2>\n<p>Earning NCQA Accreditation can help organizations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Become more efficient.<\/strong> A focus on coordinated care, training and measurement can help organizations reduce errors and duplicated services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Integrate care better.<\/strong> Standards can help organizations improve communication between individuals, caregivers, providers, payers and other organizations that coordinate care.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Provide person-centered care.<\/strong> Standards focus on person-centered services, which can lead to better care planning and monitoring.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support contracting needs.<\/strong> Standards align with the needs of states and MCOs. NCQA-Accredited organizations demonstrate that they\u2019re ready to be trusted partners in coordinating LTSS services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>WHAT ORGANIZATIONS ARE ELIGIBLE?<\/h2>\n<p>Organizations in operation for at least 6 months and coordinate LTSS are eligible for accreditation; for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Area Agencies on Aging.<\/li>\n<li>Aging and Disability Resource Centers.<\/li>\n<li>Centers for Independent Living.<\/li>\n<li>Other home and community-based organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Health plans that coordinate LTSS that do not provide medical\/behavioral health benefits.<\/li>\n<li>Case management organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Other organizations that coordinate LTSS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NCQA-Accredited MBHOs or health plans that offer comprehensive medical benefits and manage LTSS are not eligible for this accreditation but can earn <a href=\"\/programs\/health-plans\/ltss-name-tbd\/ltss-distinction-for-health-plans\/\">LTSS Distinction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learn more today.<\/strong> Fill out the form to the right to receive more information about this program or to speak to an NCQA program expert.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the population ages, more states are seeking to increase accountability, improve quality and promote a cost-effective service delivery system.
