NCQA collects Medicare and Exchange data on behalf of the Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services (CMS), collects Medicaid HEDIS data on behalf of state agencies and collects commercial data on behalf of states and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.<\/p>\n<p>HEDIS data help calculate national performance statistics and benchmarks and set\u00a0standards for measures in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncqa.org\/programs\/health-plans\/health-plan-accreditation-hpa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>NCQA\u00a0Accreditation<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With plan permission, commercial data are also included in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncqa.org\/programs\/data-and-information-technology\/data-purchase-and-licensing\/quality-compass\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Quality Compass<\/strong><\/a>\u00ae. Health plans, purchasers, consultants, and the media use Quality Compass data for comparative health plan performance analyses.<\/p>\n<p>If your health plan is interested in submitting HEDIS data for the first time, contact the NCQA Data Collection team at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.ncqa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/my.ncqa.org\/<\/a><\/strong>. All health plans submitting HEDIS data must complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/applications.ncqa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Healthcare Organization Questionnaire<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 (HOQ) to request a submission. Plans that submit the HOQ will have automatic access to the <a href=\"https:\/\/idss.ncqa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Interactive Data Submission System<\/strong><\/a> (IDSS) that NCQA uses to collect non-survey HEDIS data.<\/p>\n<p>For information on how to get started, review our <a href=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.ncqa.org\/www-prod\/New-Organizations-Submitting-to-NCQA.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>New Orgs Submitting<\/strong><\/a> document.<\/p>\n<p>Organizations that identify errors in a reported measure rate or its component after data submission are required to report the error to NCQA if it exceeds a five percent threshold.
